Yesterday we went to the beach. Okay actually we have been to the beach at least twice a day every day since we’ve been here just to cool off. I always bring my snorkel and mask just for the halibut. I was just kicking around looking at the few small fish that were swimming around by me when Brynn, who also had goggles, said she saw a huge fish. I thought yah right it can’t be that big. I went back under the water and was looking around and then I saw it about 20 yards away from us. It was a huge fish, probably three to four feet long. It would creep away into the shadows and then appear again. It started coming a little closer and would occasionally open very wide it’s huge mouth so Brynn and I decided we should probably get out of the water. We asked some people what kind of fish it might be and then I looked it up on the internet and sure enough it was a barracuda. Barracudas are one of the sea creatures that are known to bite humans and are more aggressive than most sharks. I don’t think we were in any actual danger because it was alone and we were pretty close to the shore but it was a little scary to see something that big in the water, especially when nobody else is around. The picture above is from the internet but looks exactly like the one we saw.

Barracudas are actually one of the quickest fish in the ocean. I heard that if you see one, you should keep your fingers together because they might think they are food and bite at them. Other than that, sweet. I saw a sea turtle last weekend when I went diving. How's Turks? Send me an e-mail sometime.
