Delta, we hate the way you fly
Departed Salt Lake at 11:45 pm and arrived in Atlanta at 5:00 am. Waited more than five hours in the Atlanta airport then boarded the plane for Provodenciale at 10:45. This is where the fun began. After boarding the plane the stewardess came on the intercom and said they need to fix the brakes on the plane before we leave. After about 45 minutes we left the tarmac and went to the runway where we sat for about 20 minutes. The good ol’ stewardess again returned to the intercom and said that we will be returning to our gate because the plane is having problems with it’s auxillary power supply. We returned to the same gate and waited in the plane for another hour (the stewardess said it would be about 5 minutes) until finally the pilot left the plane and a new one came onboard. He got on the intercom and apologized for the delay and we finally took off at about 1:30, makes me wonder if there were real problems with the plane or if it was just the pilot that had problems. We arrived in Provodenciale (Provo they call it) and missed our 3:00 flight to Grand Turk by about 2 hours because of the delayed flight and because we were taken into the customs police office because we didn’t have return tickets. We ended up having to call different people to vouch for us so that we could get into the country. We waited standby in the airport until 7:00 to see if we could get on that flight. We did get on and the plane boarded about 20 minutes late. After sitting on the 18 passenger dual-prop plane for 15 minutes listening to the engines roar, they said sorry we won’t be going tonight because of the horrible storm on Grand Turk. We went back into the airport for 15 minutes and then the pilots said that we are going to just go. We re-boarded the plane and took off. The flight only lasted about 25 minutes but it was definitely one of the scariest adventures of my life. The ride was amazingly smooth but there were gigantic flashes of lightning all around us the whole flight and for part of it we had some hard rain. We did finally arrive in Grand Turk Island at about 9:00 pm and were happy to finally make it. Our place is really nice except that we don’t have AC or internet like we thought. We did find a place by our house where we can use wireless and DelSol said we could go buy an AC unit but that is a story for another day because we don’t know where to buy one or how to get it to our place. Thanks for reading, I should be posting something else tomorrow so check back soon.

You have my undying adulation for the use of the word tarmac. I had to look it up, but you even spelled it right. Parabens pelo bom trabalho.
Brynn and Nate,
Remember you have two sets of parents as well as friends!! Let us know if there is a way to call you.
Love,
Mom and Dad Garrett
