Retrospecting

One day quite some time ago Brynn and I were fortunate enough to go on a little excursion called a “helmet dive.” What you do is slowly walk down a ladder that comes off the back of the boat. When you get close to going underwater a giant space helmet is placed on your head. The helmet weighs about 35 pounds but underwater it seems quite light. The experience is very similar to what you would expect if you had the chance to walk on the moon. If you pushed off real hard you could jump about 8-10 feet. It really feels pretty cool. It doesn’t even compare to the feeling of scuba diving but it was fun nonetheless and I was glad we were able to give this a try. It was during this excursion that I was stung by some type of anemone and suffered from a severe rash for the next several days. If you missed the post about this which included some pretty sweet pictures you can find the link to it somewhere over on the left. It should be under the title “enemy anemone.” Anyway, we just developed our waterproof camera and I was super excited to see that some of our underwater pictures turned out. I will be posting some other retrospective pictures and stories from our Grand Turk adventure during the next couple of days, at least until I can find some better material to write about.
