We met a family from Tyler, Texas last week. They are staying at a nice little place on the island for about two weeks just to enjoy themselves and relax. They brought a load of frozen food in a cooler and invited us over for dinner and games two nights ago. Pot roast, rice, and broccoli. They are awesome. They will be leaving this Sunday and said they are going to have a lot of extra food that they will give us when they leave, yippee.
We have been able to eat conch the giant shellfish thing several times, and a few other types of fish, which has been a fun experience.
We found a tiny little shack that is full of random groceries. A lady that knows most of the people on the island owns the place, and her name is Miss Dolly. Miss Dolly is an elderly lady that does not tolerate any drinking or smoking around her establishment. She’s just a good old religious gal that is friendly to everyone. She makes homemade cakes and cheesecakes with strawberry topping and fresh cut strawberries on top. I wish I could bring some slices home to everyone, they are amazing.
We live less than a five minute walk to the most amazing private beach. Nobody is ever around which lets us get rid of some of those pesky tan-lines. The sand is soft, the water is clean and clear, and the water level is around chest level until about 40 yards out where it slowly starts to get a little deeper. The beach is awesome.
Our wonderful employer has been gracious enough to give us each a few free t-shirts, a pair of sunglasses, and a hat. Not a bad deal for some good quality stuff.
Most importantly I have been able to spend a lot of time with Brynn. I thought Brynn and I would get sick of each other here but we really haven’t. We have relied on each other a lot for things and I think this trip has been good for our relationship. Sometimes we think about what it will be like when we get back home and actually have to be apart for eight or more hours every day. Our lives are going to be very different soon and I don’t think we are completely prepared for a new way of life.
I have had quite a problematic few months, full of bites, stings, aches, and pains but overall I think we have had fun. Brynn and I really have had good experiences here in Grand Turk and we are going to miss a lot of our current life.

We need more negative stories. The positive ones aren't as much fun to laugh at.
I'm glad not everything there is horrible, but I agree with Eric.
Nate and Brynn, your mom and dad like the positive stories even though you have given us some good laughs.
